Company NewsCTS LanguageLink Starts the New Year with Multiple Contract WinsJanuary 29, 2009 (Vancouver, Washington) – CTS LanguageLink™, a leading provider of translation, interpretation, and localization services, announced the award of four new contracts since December 2008, some of which have already begun utilizing services. The contracts recently awarded establish CTS LanguageLink as an approved statewide translation and interpretation services provider for the states of Maine and Oklahoma; over-the-phone (OPI) interpretation services provider for Nassau County of New York; and lastly, providing on-site interpretation services for Loudon County of Virginia. The contracts awarded by the state of Maine and Oklahoma allow for all state agencies, school districts, non-profits and other organizations to utilize our services. An important aspect of our contract with Maine is the ability to service the state’s American Sign Language requests in other languages. This will be serviced through the use of video-remote interpreting (VRI). VRI is made accessible to the end user through use of either a PC based application or use of a video phone. “Video-remote interpreting is cutting edge technology in our industry, which only few language companies are able to offer as a solution for their clients,” states Dan Nelson, Director of Technology, CTS LanguageLink. “Video-remote interpreting is such a growing need in the US that we’ve made the necessary investment in capital and resources to be able to offer it as a compliment to our core services,” adds Sarah Gamble, Interpretation Division Manager of CTS LanguageLink. The Maine contract was finalized in October 2008, with extension periods through 2012. The Oklahoma state contract is valid from December 2008 with extension periods through 2013. The contract with Nassau County will provide OPI service in all languages to various county agencies which may require court or medical certified interpreters. CTS LanguageLink will also be providing the county with phone equipment as needed to service their OPI clients. This contract will begin March 1, 2009, with extension periods through 2012. The Loudoun County contract covers the county’s on-site interpretation requests. CTS LanguageLink has been servicing the State of Virginia for a number of years and has extensive interpreter resources in the area. This contract began January 1, 2009, with extension periods through 2012. “We are excited to continue our existing relationship with Loudoun County as we’ve been working to provide them with language services, both over-the-phone interpreting and translation services, for various county agencies,” states Pam Ballard, Chief Operations Officer.
