All CTS Employees Complete HIPAA and HITECH Training
April 30, 2012 (Vancouver, WA) Recently, all employees of CTS LanguageLink completed on-line training courses in both the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act.
The courses covered the multi-faceted acts passed by the US Congress in 1996 (HIPAA) and 2009 (HITECH), which address the privacy and security issues as well as regulations concerning the developments created by electronic health records.
“As a translation and interpretation services provider for many health care organizations, we believe this training is vital toward instilling trust in our services for our health care clientele and ensures all employees are aware of their responsibilities with respect to the handling of protected health information” said Pam Ballard, COO of CTS LanguageLink.
The training led employees through a series of informational screens about the facets of the acts. At the end of the course, employees were required to pass a test that covered the topics of the training.
As new employees join CTS LanguageLink, they will be required to complete the training.
